BABYLON 5 UNIVERSE
MOVIES
by Renaud Bédard

Still
can't believe after this amazing science fiction television series that
Babylon 5 was, that not one single big screen movie effort follow up was
ever made. It doesn't even have to be called or be about Babylon 5, as
long as it is in continuation with that same Babylon Universe. In
this long overdue movie, possibly with some of the willing TV cast, new
characters could also be introduced along with new places and
new threats. Also, I could never imagine any Babylon universe films
without the wonderful unique musical sound of Christopher Franke. The
movies could simply continue in that Babylon Universe and eventually
move toward a Legend Of The Rangers future generations style event

THIRDSPACE CONTINUATION -
I remember once when all about the Babylon 5 was thought to have
been said and done, until Thirdspace came along and opened up a whole
new door to even more possibilities within this amazing universe; and in
my view, a continuation directly based on the fallouts of Thirdspace
might just be the best possible option for a future Babylon Universe
film franchise. Even some of the Shadows, Vorlons and First Ones could
make an unexpected surprising return to possibly face a common enemy, a
great threat of universal proportion like none has ever seen before; and
maybe even some telepaths might have plans of their own too. Even
Sinclair, or shall I say Valen, from a thousand years in the past, might
have left something behind for just this kind of situation; all possible
events from an incredible universe created by Joseph Michael
Straczynski, which deserves major theatre film treatment. And personally
in a Babylon universe film event, I would also love to see a little
appearance of Crusade’s very own Captain Gideon to the rescue, in his
newly refitted destroyer starship the Excalibur, possibly equipped with
four engines and even more might
And what if those monstrous aliens we saw in Thirdspace were just
guardians, simply the dogs of war to a species very different than we
would expect, possibly with some similarities to us; and maybe all the
combined powers of Shadows, Vorlons, and all the First Ones put together
couldn't do anything to stop them, in fact it would only make them
stronger,,, but maybe one simple man, one, half of Earth, and half of
Minbari, maybe he could solve it all in the end without even firing a
single shot, and like his father before him, leave his own mark in
history
- SON OF
JOHN AND DELENN -
In
some television episodes, War Without End, and Sleeping In Light, we
learn of David the future child of John Sheridan and Delenn; and in The
Deconstruction Of Falling Stars, from a far future perspective, we are
even teased of possible controversies he will be involved with, where
everything is cut short of telling us what happened. Now would it be
possible that like his father, David might have picked a side
controversial to many in some war, due to some injustice, and like
his father he might have shinned and left his mark in history by taking
the side of discovering the truth and fighting for justice, and might
have been key in solving a certain conflict, which might
have had some dark agenda behind it all, that might have triggered the
conflict with fabrications and false accusations, maybe some unfinished
telepath business

LOST TALES OF THE DRAKH PLAGUE -
Between
all solutions to the plague released on Earth by Drakh forces, from
heavy bio research to counter an old Shadow virus engineered long ago,
possibly with the help of Drakh scientists, a virus that Earth might
never even be able to counteract without a very specific key only few
Drakhs would have, between that, and an Earth wide population cryogenic
freeze to slow down the progress of the disease, except for a few very
important Drakh prisoners that would be forced to suffer their own
affliction,,, maybe in the end, it would be simply a certain Captain
Gideon from the starship destroyer, the Excalibur, that would solve it
all, by secretly managing his way to the Drakh home world, and
strategically implanting special old fashion Earth made bombs all over
their planet, and threatening to destroy everything and annihilate
everyone in seconds without their unconditional immediate surrender, and
the release of the counter agent to stop the plague inflicting Earth, as
in you break my planet, I break yours first, fairplay
At
some point, with all of Earth’s population about to die, Captain
Gideon, after a few years of running around the galaxy in his quest for
a possible cure to the Drakh plague he might never find; maybe he would
have had enough, and in last desperate times, he might have decided
instead to take the matter directly to the horse's mouth, using a little
cowboy diplomacy, and a much more lethal an eye for an eye, a planet for
a planet approach, with a well planned very immediate annihilation
threat to the Drakh civilization itself, promising that their whole
planet would die first, and the people of Earth would know that their
enemies would not survive them
