CAPTAIN AMERICA THE MOVIES
by Renaud Bédard

First in the beginning of any Captain America related movies, if anyone has any respect, the names of the original creators should be honored and appear always, based on Joe Simon and Jack Kirby

- WORLD WAR II -

The first movie should start during World War Two with more close and personal stories where at one point Captain America possibly doing some reconnaissance undercover mission in France would get injured during a bombardment, and members of the French resistance finding the hero unconscious and taking him to a safer location and caring for his wounds; and during his healing, the real man behind the mask Steve Rogers would get to know his caretakers better and witness for himself the horror and the painful reality of the nazi occupation from executions to torture, poverty, food shortages, and so many orphans of war. Also could be hopefully shown Captain America first in his original costume with his original triangular shield; and maybe even along with a few Invaders cameos, with secret meetings and hints of the original Human Torch, Sub-Mariner, Miss America, the Whizzer, and others, all in civilian clothes with a little golden age superhero costumes showing through at times and a pair of eyes starting to flame on. The movie could end with the hero's disappearance and of his partner Bucky after an explosion above northern Atlantic skies. The very last scene could have a touching narration by Captain America himself, along with an eye candy golden age moment as his friends and the Invaders arriving on the scene fearing the worse would search for signs of life from their leader, something that could be explored farther in the first Avengers movie

THE ORIGINAL CLASSIC TRI-STAR TRIANGULAR SHIELD

The very first shield the one and only true Captain America Steve Rogers ever took into battle during World War Two, before getting his round shield; it would be nice to see in the very beginning of the first film this classic piece, and as accurate as possible

- THE MODERN AGE -

From his last heroic moments near the end of World War Two, trying to prevent a missile from reaching its target of countless innocents, to the legendary hero missing in action and presumed dead after the mid-air explosion and falling into icy waters; Steve Rogers would finally be found and rescued many years later by the modern day Avengers. Captain America would for a moment regain consciousness, only to hear voices in the background talking about him, and he would open up his eyes only to see very blurry visions, almost like in a dream, of a Viking north god, also a man in shining metal armor, a tiny insect size woman, and a pair of gigantic eyes looking back at him, before he would fall back unconscious. Then he would wake up again a few days later, but this time in an hospital bed, and to avoid anymore shocks, Steve Rogers would have the truth hidden from him, and his caretakers would try to make him believe he is still in the 1940's with old fashion clothes, old street cars in the neighborhood, with old music and old news bulletins on the radios, all in a small restricted controlled area just outside the city. But Steve would sense something wrong, noticing tiny mistakes like a Japanese made watch and a German made medical tool; and eventually he would escape thinking he was caught by the enemy, still in World War trying to get top-secret information out of him. Once out and running outside of the restricted zone, Steve Rogers would discover that he is back home in a new modern age, as a man out of time

And in this new modern age Captain America would continue his fight for truth justice and liberty, with a dramatic spectacular mid-air rescue of a highjacked airliner filled with passengers. The legendary hero would jump right off an air force fighter jet only to land right on the plane and fight his way inside to regain control, only to give it back to the disbelieved pilot and co-pilots, before jumping right back out. In future Captain America solo film events, if only as a backup, it would be nice to see the hero in action using his spectacular energy shield, and eventually meet the new modern day Falcon Sam Wilson, and a very defiant Captain Walker the USAgent, along with others like Diamondback, Rachel Leighton and Free Spirit, Cathy Webster

- CAPTAIN AMERICA -

A movie that will be respected worldwide, will be one where Captain America himself would eventually refuse to be a puppet of his own government, and where Steve Rogers would make his own mind, have his own opinion, and even have the courage to take on some of his very own people, corrupted government administrators, sinister agenda groups and high ranking trigger happy army officers if necessary; in fact taking on the villains within his very own dear country, drawing the line between patriotism and doing the right thing for all mankind, at the risk of himself being declared an enemy of the states, by corrupted groups. Captain America would have a more global vision of the world, and be a real genuine hero that will fight for everyone's liberty and more importantly everyone's very basic security and lives, including those of innocent Germans back then, as innocent men women and children in modern day wars. And if anything, a Captain America World War 2 movie could do what Hollywood movies never did before, honor and respect all who died in that war, all none Americans as well, many Canadians, British, French, Italians, Belgium, Dutch... and many innocents from all sides who never even had anything to do about the war

- THE RED SKULL -

The movie should explore the origin of the Red Skull, which was born Johann Schmidt in a village of southern Germany, the son of an illiterate, drunken poor peasant named Hermann, and his wife Martha who died giving birth. Hermann tried to drown the newborn Johann, blaming him for the death of his mother, and committed suicide the next morning; but the infant was rescued and put in an orphanage, where the Red Skull was born as the fruit of World War One, a young man living in misery poverty and with the injustice of War debts imposed by the victors of Europe. In the beginning the crowds would feel sympathy for him, seeing the injustice he had to live between the two wars, and growing less patience with his hope gradually fading away, and hatred starting to taking over, and eventually pushed in the path of Evil. Trying to find some normal life for himself after years of running away and stealing just to survive in the streets, Johann might have lost his only reason to live as his wife to be died due to poverty; and in a fragile state of mind, Nazis would find and direct him to become the German super spy known as the Red Skull. Years later, we could find the man of a thousand faces hiding in the US under the stolen identity and name of George Maxon, the head of a corporation, as it was in the very first issue of Captain America Comics of 1941; in that story he dies, but maybe that could be worked into a ruse, leaving only his mask behind and fading into the crown escaping Captain America. In the beginning the man known as the Red Skull could simply be an ordinary spy wearing a red mask along with various other masks to fool and infiltrate to steal secrets and commit sabotage acts; and by the end of the movie he could be permanently disfigured in an incident while experimenting on himself an incomplete imperfect super-soldier serum he stole

- BUCKY BARNES -

Bucky Barnes should be in the very first movie as he is an essential important part of Captain America's world war two eras as one of his best ally, ever since that time he walked in and discovered Steve putting on the Captain America uniform. At the end of World War two along with Captain America, Bucky in presumed dead in action after saving countless innocents in an explosion over the skies of the English Channel. Decades later would be revealed he was found by a Soviet sub-marine at the end of World War Two, and recognized as Cap's ally, the dying young man having lot his memory might have been put on an experimental treatment after years in cryogenic freeze. Once returned, Bucky Barnes could also find himself in the modern age having to save the day again to other heroes' surprise. Bucky with his war experience, his agility, his fighting skills and talent for camouflage, he could diffuse a major threat with a single gesture at the right time; with everyone else having lost all hope, waiting for the worse to happen, he would be risking his own life at an other critical time in history, and going the extra length to make a real difference in the world to protect innocent lives, what ever the cost to himself, Bucky Barnes might impress a lot of folks including the people from Shield who never even saw him coming. And rather than trying to knock off anyone he respects, Bucky would go in the modern age under possibly the new name of Manhattan Kid in honnor of the victims of 9/11, Kid Patriot, or even better, Agent America

- DER METZGER -

From the magnificent pages of Captain America Theatre Of War: Operation Zero Point from 2008, comes a very interesting evil character by the name of Der Metzger, in English, the Butcher, and in French, during the real World War Two, a name also very often heard to qualify the inhumane horror of some, le Boucher, where crazy psychotic mass murderers were unleashed and put in charge of prisoners. The name in this story is the one of a very dark soul in charge of advanced war technology development, and experiments on live human subjects, mostly Jewish prisoners. This kind of monster would certainly make a very realistic contribution within World War Two chapters of Captain America movies, showing perfectly all the horror of the war in its darkest days, the kind of horror someone like Steve Rogers would have confronted often during that awful period of history

- WWII CAMEOS -

As far as short and sweet cameos for films, classic Invaders like Namor the Sub-Mariner, Jim Hammond the original Human Torch, and others will always come to mind, but maybe the red white and blue superheroes during World War Two, somewhere in Europe, possibly in France, his troops could have joined up for a short while with Canadian forces which had been in that war a bit earlier than Americans; and maybe one private Steve Rogers could have met an apparently  young soldier named Logan, code name Wolverine, and for Marvel films to have the balls to do what the comic book department never really did for lack of, and also explore farther this very popular Canadian character, and better establish his role during World War Two as a mission impossible specialist, due to his extreme agility and  regenerative powers alone, that same power that kept him alive since his birth, somewhere in the nineteenth century

During World War Two, Canadian and American governments separately would have sent each their best operatives to find and eliminate very specific Nazi threat, a rumored top-secret base where the development of new weapons of mass-destruction was taking place, and could cost the war and the lives of countless innocents worldwide. Both Captain America and Wolverine would met at the site, surprise to see each other, and together deciding on the best way to neutralize this immense threat; and just as they would be about to move into action, and other hero would come out of nowhere interrupting them with new information, one calling himself the Union Jack

- FALCONS IN THE AIR -

The original Falcon was Carl Burgess who first appeared in Human Torch Comics issue #2 of 1940, and maybe during World War Two Steve Rogers would have meet him for the first time as a young Assistant District Attorney. Later, while on route for an invitation dinner at the Wilson family, with Samuel as the head of the house, grand father to be of a certain future day Falcon; On route, Steve Rogers would meet half way his old childhood best body Paul Wilson, now a grown man that was getting ready to leave soon for old Europe to help in the fight against the Nazis; a young adult with possibly a more important role during the war that he would ever have expected. Along the way, both would surprise a thief trying to steal at gunpoint the purse of an old screaming lady, and now they too would be asked for their wallets. Steve Rogers could have overpowered that robber at anytime, but with his best friend already wanting to play hero and innocents around attracted by all the commotion, Steve would just give away his money and send the robber on its way; and while making his getaway, the strange figure of a masked man with a red falcon on his chest would glide over head towards the running thief, and all would be amazed at the scene fainting away in the distance

Decades later in the modern age, now a very old man, Carl Burgess on his death bed would recognize Steve Rogers and be astonished of him not having aged at all after so long; and before the old man died, Steve Rogers accompanied by Samuel Wilson, the son of his best friend Paul, he would reveal to the dying man that he is the one true Captain America; and in return, with his very last breath, Carl Burgess would reveal to all his life long secret, that he was the original hero everyone called the Falcon. Later on after the death, Steve would tell Sam, of that day before his father left for war, when both saw the Falcon up high in the air, fighting for justice, and how it would be a shame to let the name of that great hero to be forgotten

- RUSSIAN SUPER-SOLDIER -

I could easily imagine that after seeing old World War Two film archives of Captain America in combat, that the Russians might have explored the idea of having their own super-soldiers, with more or less success; and today after decades of trials, errors, and human tragedies, a whole series of horrific monstrosities is about to get even worse with, with their caretaker about to lose complete control. But in the mist of all this, I like to thing that at least some good came out of all this, and a new red star hero will be born, one that at first will see Captain America as the enemy, but in the end will see Steve Rogers as a genuine friend and a true ally

- THE US AGENT -

In movies, entering into the modern age, Steve Rogers would see a changed world, and also one defying John Walker, the new modern day super-patriot, the US Agent in red white and black uniform holding in his hand a silver color shield with the names of every innocent victims of 9/11 engraved on it. This former soldier would be a little of an extremist at times, with a bit of a reckless behavior, having obvious problems in adjusting to a very questionable superhuman treatment, and not to happy of the return of the true original legend, as he was looking forward to take on the title as his own, a situation that would lead to envy, jealousy and a confrontation between the two; but in the end, despite their differences, both would end up making peace and respecting each other, and Steve Rogers would know that if it ever came down to it, that John Walker would always be deep down a true ally to Captain America

- ADOLPH HITLER -

One of Captain America’s very first mission could be a diplomatic one given to him by the President of the United States of America himself, to deliver a simple message to Adolph Hitler directly; and Steve Rogers out of Captain America uniform would go to the very heart of Nazi Germany, where ally agents, possibly one Canadian, code name Wolverine, one British, code name Union Jack, and others already on the ground would help him along the way to quickly reach his target. Steve Rogers would manage to get close to the Fuhrer himself, but not quite close enough to who was in the beginning an ordinary simple man that over the years was being eaten away by a dark influence along with a strong sentiment of rage from past injustices, which turned over time into the deepest hatred. But among the crowd, watching over him, other super humans of unknown origin would be disguised as civilians and would stand guard, watching very closely. Steve Rogers would try to draw them away by getting their attention by flashing his original shield in their faces, creating a minor panic amongst the security, followed by an immediate discreet chase for the red white and blue super-soldier; and after losing his pursuers long enough, Captain America in full red white and blue uniform would have his classic shot, carrying his original classic tri-star triangular shield in one hand, and his message at the end of his other fist, with an official declaration of war against the tyranny of Adolph Hitler, as seen in his first comic book cover of 1941, with some mysterious undercover photograph, possibly Bucky Barnes, taking the picture, and quickly hiding his camera back under his long overcoat, slightly showing his own costume. After delivering his message to the Fuhrer himself, Steve Rogers would threaten that he or his friends might just return someday, possibly referring to the original Human Torch, in a later saga suggesting that the burned remains of Adolph Hitler found after World War Two might have been caused by Jim Hammond himself after he discovering the horror of the holocaust

- WORLD WAR TWO GERMAN HEROES -

I think it would be very important to not make all Germans of the period the enemy, when the real Evil was in reality Adolph Hitler and his associates who let hatred take over the better part of them, while at the same time, most of Germany was plunged in the dark, with lies and the illusion of dreams. It would be essential for this World War Two film to also show at the time some Germans seeing through the veil of Nazi lies and illusions, and witness the truth going on behind their backs, in secret. Eventually some Germans might get to see the full horror of the Fuhrer’s final solution, with some trying to denounce it at the cost of their own lives, and others going underground to try to stop and undermine Nazi efforts as best as they could, to save as many lives as they could. Those German heroes forced underground, always on the run, would have made a very significant different in the war against Evil, enough for the Nazi party to send special agents after them, to hunt them down as unpatriotic traitors, where many would have eventually met their death at the hands of sinister people who would gladly have accepted the role, like the Red Skull

- SUPER SOLDIER SERUM -

The way I see Professor Reinstein’s super-soldier serum and Operation Rebirth is something tested on Steve Rogers by the inventor himself before he died, and taking to his grave the most essential elements of his secret with him as he kept most of it in his head by fear of spies wanting his secrets; a treatment consisting of artificially unleash the full human potential to its absolute limitation, something no man or woman could ever hope to reach naturally unless humanity was plunged for ages into the hardest possible living condition for survival, and Captain America would represent humanity at the very best it could ever hope to be

- SCENE OF WORLD WAR II INVADERS -

After Steve Rogers and James Buchanan Barnes’ disappearance near the end of World War II, a strange mysterious group of people in civilian clothes would appear and gather to organize their own search and rescue effort, and underneath those clothes would partially show the costumes of the original Human Torch, Namor the Sub-Mariner, the Whizzer, Miss America and others; and as the view would move overhead higher and higher above them into the sky, Computer-generated imagery special effects would take over, with the heroes of the Invaders dropping their civilian disguises and split in every directions to search for Bucky and their great leader which they fear might be dead, and all this under the narration of the voice of Captain America himself bringing the first movie to a close, with a message of peace, friendship and hope for the future

- CAPTAIN AMERICA LIVES AGAIN -

Imagine a film where Steve Rogers, the one true Captain America, would live again in a world where history would be somehow changed, and instead of the Avengers finding him after decades on ice, a German sub-marine would, and bring him to a city once called New York, and instead was renamed New Berlin by its conquerors, with the Red Skull in charge. Imagine a world where heroes of the modern age would have been born within Nazi military occupation, with many still resisting as best as they can, and Steve Rogers joining them; but in the end, the only solution to fix things would be for Steve Rogers to take the fight back in time where it all started when allies of the Red Skull modified the timeline. The last scenes of the film would have Captain America locked in hand to hand combat with the Red Skull, as Dr Doom's time machine responsible for everything in switched on, as the hero and villain starts do disappear in it and are thrown back into the past in a blinding flash of light; and as a sign that history has been restored, on a clear beautiful day, we see the Avengers vessel picking up in the sea the frozen body of a man in the red white and blue uniform of Captain America

- HERITAGE -

What If Steve Rogers, the one true Captain America discovered that as part of his heritage, he also had running in his veins the blood of one of his long lost ancestor, a genuine American-Indian warrior, a true hero from America’s past that looked beyond skin pigmentation and continental seniority, and his legendary heroism that saved countless innocents from the corruption and tyranny from all sides; where he meet this European woman settler in trouble, Steve Roger’s great great great grand mother, and saved her from certain death, only to both fall in love and become wife and husband for a short while before he died in battle, but leaving behind a new born child. Not just the history of Captain America that could be explored, but also the one of his brave ancestors, all that makes today Steve Rogers the modern day superhero that he is, with a long line of heroism through out the ages, from an avenging Middle-Age knight from old France, to a freedom fighter in old Ireland, to a brave American-Indian warrior of the new world, their blood all running in his vein, and their spirits within him always, re-enforcing the drive and determination of Steve Rogers, something one like Thor might be able to see within the one true Captain America, a long line of heroism and so much bravery to even impress and bring the admiration and respect of the mighty god of thunder himself

- FAMILY -

Maybe Steve Rogers had younger brothers and sister he left behind after his disappearance during WW2, maybe even some that were not born at the time; and today his brothers and sister, some still alive, might have left behind their own descendence and Steve Rogers might have a bigger family in the modern age than he would ever suspected, not to mention a possible child of his own from his girlfriend from World War Two. At some point, when he feels alone, like he left every one he ever loved behind and died long ago, family members might emerge into a big family reunion, possibly with his own daughter behind it all

- YOUNG STEVE ROGERS -

In the days of old time classic radio drama and music of the same era, this would be the life of a very young Steve Rogers, a boy with poor health, just trying to get by during his childhood, after learning of the death of his father as a war hero of his own time, and the whole family having to deal with the lose, young Steve would work to help his mother anyway he could. Then one day while playing in the streets with his friends, Steve would get involve in stopping a thief, as the robber would be running away from police, he would set a trap with the assistance of his friends, and throw a garbage can lid in the path causing the criminal to fall down and knock himself unconscious to the ground, and remaining there long enough for officers to catch up and make the arrest. This would clearly demonstrate that before even becoming the red white and blue super soldier, Steve Rogers despite not being born originally with super human strength, agility, speed, and enhanced senses, right at a very young age he would still demonstrate great courage, intelligence, and ruses, along with unquestionable leadership qualities. And years later with the boy now a young man, Steve Rogers in the beginning of World War Two would try to enter the military after hearing of horrific news of the situation from overseas. The frail young man would even try to hide his condition to get accepted, but after his rejection, he would still insist, and causing a commotion about his right to fight for his country and help save the world; and those words would catch the attention of a superior officer involved in some secret government Operation Rebirth program, one looking for its first test subject to become, code name, Captain America

- LIKE FATHER LIKE SON -

I could imagine the live of young Steve Rogers and his mother Sarah, after his father, Joseph Rogers, an American military officer want missing and was presumed dead, while possibly accompanying a peace negotiating mission to Europe during the very early days of World War Two, a mission that might have took a turn for the worse; and a few years later as the situation in Europe had degraded to horrific proportions, Steve Rogers would have volunteered to take part in Operation Rebirth to become Captain America, and join the allies in the fight against the Nazis. A few years later during the war, Steve Rogers would discover within a German list of prisoners, the name of his own father, a list of people that were transported to some concentration camp, one that would later in history be better known as a Nazi Death Camp. Later on as Captain America, along with friends, Steve would manage to find that place and break into it to liberate all the survivors, possibly among them, a young boy named Erik Magnus Lehnsherr, future Magneto to be; and with everyone to safety, Captain America would ask if anyone had seen Joseph Rogers. Many would look at each other and recognize the name, as the one who organized the great escape of hundreds of prisoners from those death trains heading to no return; but in the end, he was caught and given the same treatment as those Jews he tried to help. One of many who saw the rest of their families run towards freedom in that great escape, would come forward to tell the story of Joseph Rogers, and give to Captain America his belonging, a picture of his wife Sarah. Steve Rogers would later write a letter to his mother, telling of her husband’s great courage and heroism; and along with the picture inside his father carried with him always, this letter would also be the last one Steve would ever be able to send to his mother, before himself going missing in action and being presumed dead not long before the end of this war
