ALLAH DIEU
by Renaud

Whether
called God or Dieu or Allah, it is all the very same one that is
referred to, and religions in the end can pretty much be resumed to
these words

1.
I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of
Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
2. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. Thou shalt not make
unto thee a graven image, nor any manner of likeness, of any
thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath,
or that is in the water under the earth; Thou shalt not bow down
unto them, nor serve them; for I the Lord thy God am a jealous
God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto
the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me; And
showing mercy unto the thousandth generation of them that love
Me and keep My commandments.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for
the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in
vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou
labour, and do all thy work. But the seventh day is the Sabbath
in honour of the Lord thy God; on it thou shalt not do any work,
neither thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant nor
thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within
thy gates; For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the
earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the
seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and
hallowed it.
5. Honour thy father and thy mother; in order that thy days may
be prolonged upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house; thou shalt not
covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his
maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy
neighbour's.

1.
"There is no other god beside God."(47:19)
2. "My Lord, make this a peaceful land, and protect me and
my children from worshiping idols." (14:35)
3. "Do not subject God's name to your casual swearing, that
you may appear righteous, pious, or to attain credibility among
the people." (2:224)
4. "O you who believe, when the Congregational Prayer
(Salat Al-Jumu`ah) is announced on Friday, you shall hasten to
the commemoration of GOD, and drop all business." (62:9)
The Sabbath was relinquished with the revelation of the Quran.
Muslims are told in the Quran that the Sabbath was only decreed
for the Jews. (16:124) God, however, ordered Muslims to make
every effort and drop all businesses to attend the
congregational (Friday) prayer. The Submitters may tend to their
business during the rest of the day.
5. "....and your parents shall be honored. As long as one
or both of them live, you shall never say to them,
"Uff" (the slightest gesture of annoyance), nor shall
you shout at them; you shall treat them amicably." (17:23)
6. "....anyone who murders any person who had not committed
murder or horrendous crimes, it shall be as if he murdered all
the people." (5:32)
7. "You shall not commit adultery; it is a gross sin, and
an evil behavior." (17:32)
8. "The thief, male or female, you shall mark their hands
as a punishment for their crime, and to serve as an example from
God. God is Almighty, Most Wise." (5:38 - 39)
9. "Do not withhold any testimony by concealing what you
had witnessed. Anyone who withholds a testimony is sinful at
heart." (2:283)
10. "And do not covet what we bestowed upon any other
people. Such are temporary ornaments of this life, whereby we
put them to the test. What your Lord provides for you is far
better, and everlasting." (20:131)

I
have a dream of someday living in a world where Jews Muslims and
Christians would live peacefully together in harmony, equality, and
respect, without arming or undermining each other, with no borders and
fences separating them, and coming to the defense of each other like
brothers and sisters, all children of the very same God
A few facts about Islam to understand better, with a list of their most
sacred prophets or messengers of God, names you might just recognize,
rather than painting all Muslim as villains, and promoting
hatred and total ignorance
-
Adam آدم
Adam
is the first prophet of Islam and the first human being. He was created
by Allah(God) and is an important figure in Judaism and
Christianity as well and he is best known for the story of Adam and Eve
- Idris
(Enoch) ادريس
In Islam, Idris lived
during a period of drought inflicted by Allah (God) to punish the people
of the world who had forgotten him. Idris prayed to Allah for salvation
and an end to the suffering and so the world received rain. Enoch is
also credited in Islam with introducing writing, astronomy, and
mathematics
- Nuh (Noah)
نوح
Although best known for the
Deluge, Nuh was a primary preacher of monotheism at his time. According
to Islam, it was this faithfulness to Allah (God) that led to his
selection for building the Ark that would continue life on Earth
- Hud (Eber)
هود
According to Islam, Hud,
for whom the eleventh sura (chapter) (Arabic:eleventh sura) of the
Qur'an is named, was one of the few people to survive a great storm
inflicted by Allah, like with the Deluge five generations earlier, to
punish the people of the world who had forgotten about Allah
- Saleh
(Shelah) صالح
According to the Qur'an, Saleh
(Shela) was ordered by Allah to leave behind his people after they
disobeyed Allah's order to care for a special camel and instead killed
it. In Saleh's absence, Allah punished the people with a large
earthquake

Muslims today as one of the significant prophets as he is credited with
building the Kaaba in Makkah

Islam for attempting to preach against evil in Sodom and Gomorra,
only to be mocked and ignored by the people who lived there

the Zamzam Well

Abraham as prophets of Islam

tradition, Ayyub was rewarded by a fountain of youth, which removed all
illnesses except death, for his service to Allah in his hometown outside

Jethro was a direct
descendant of Abraham. According to Islam, he was appointed by God to
guide the people of Midyan and Aykah, who lived near Mount Sinai. When
the people of the region failed to listen to his warnings, God destroyed
the disbeliever's villages
- Musa (Moses)
موسى
Moses,
referred to in the Qur'an more than any other prophet, is significant
for revealing the Torah to the Ancient Egypt. The Qur'an says Moses
realized his connection with God after receiving commands from him
during a stop at Mount Sinai. He later went on to free the enslaved
Hebrews after failing to convince the Egyptian pharaoh of God's power.
Moses subsequently led the freed Hebrews for forty years through the
desert on a long attempt to capture Canaan, the Promised Land. During
this long journey, Moses received the Torah and the Ten Commandments
during another trip to Mount Sinai. At the end of his life, according to
Islamic tradition, Moses chose to die to be closer to God instead of
taking an offer that would have extended his life
- Harun
(Aaron) هارون
Harun served as an
assistant to his elder brother Musa. In Islam, he, like Musa, was given
the task of saving the Hebrews from the Egyptian pharaoh. He would often
speak for Musa when Musa’s speech impediment prevented him from doing
so himself
- Dhul-Kifl
(most likely Ezekiel) ذو
الكفل
The status of Dhul-Kifl as
a prophet is debatable within Islam, although both sides can agree that
he was indeed a righteous man who strived in the way of God
- Dawood
(David) داوود
In Islam, the Psalms
were revealed to David by God. He is also significant as he is the one
who defeated Goliath
-
Sulayman (Solomon) سليمان

God. According to Islamic tradition, Solomon was given power over all
things. Known for his honesty and fairness, he also led a kingdom that
extended into southern Arabia

(Elijah) إلياس
Elijah, descendant of
Aaron, took over control of the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula
after Solomon's kingdom collapsed. Islamic tradition says he attempted
to convince the people of the Peninsula of the existence of only one
God, but when the people refused to listen they were smitten with a
drought and famine
- Al-Yasa
(Elisha) اليسع
Elisha took over the job of
leading the Hebrews after Elijah's death. He attempted to show the king
and queen of Israel the powers of God, but was dismissed as a magician.
Subsequently, the Assyrians were able to conquer the Israelites and
inflict significant damage on them
- Yunus

that Jonah was commanded by God to help the people of Nineveh towards
righteousness. However, after Nineveh's people refused to listen to God,
he became disgruntled and started to ignore Him. After an incident where
Jonah was spared death, he decided to re-commit himself to striving for
God, attempting to lead the people of Nineveh to righteousness. But
after returning to evil, illicit ways, the Scythians conquered them
- Zakariya
(Zacharias) زكريا
A descendant of Solomon,
Zacharias was a patron of Mary, mother of Jesus. According to the Quran,

of the highest ranked prophets in Islam, 'Isa al-Maseeh, (Jesus the
Messiah) was sent to guide the Children of Israel. The Qur'an makes it
very clear that in Islam, Jesus is not the begotten son of Allah, but
rather a messenger og God, although he is called Ruhullah 'Isa, spirit
of Allah. Muslims believe that 'Isa was not crucified, but rather that Allah
raised 'Isa to Himself
- Muhammad ibn
'Abdillah (Muhammad) محمّد
Muhammad is the
most revered prophet in Islam and the only one who does not exist in
either Judaism nor Christianity as he came later, between the years
570 to 632. Muhammad spent the first part of his life as a travelling
merchant, and would often spend his time in the mountains
surrounding Makkah in prayer contemplating the situation with the city.
At the age of forty, during one of those trips to the mountain, Muhammad
began to, receive and recite verses from Allah which today make up the
Qur'an, a message to all humanity. Muslims do not regard him as
the founder of a new religion, but rather believe him to be the last in
a line of prophets of God and regard his mission as one of restoring the
original monotheistic faith of Adam, Abraham and other prophets of
Islam. Muhammad reported receiving revelations from God delivered
through the angel Gabriel, and the content of these revelations, are
known as the Qur'an
