HUMAN
TORCH THE MOVIES
by Renaud Bédard

Right up
front in the beginning of any Human Torch related movies, just
after whatever title of any possible interpretations, if anyone has any
respect for anything, those words should always appear, based on Carl
Burgos, and the name of the original creator that started it all should
be honored, always
Walking among the crowd there seem to be a very ordinary man by the name
of Jim Hammond, but when danger stroke and a hero was needed, he would
change into the extraordinary Human Torch, at first bursting into flame
when exposed to the air. A perfect replica of a human being in
appearance, Jim really was an enhanced artificial human being
created in a laboratory by the brilliant mind of the scientist
Professor Phineas Horton. The original Human Torch had a great origin
story that would certainly make an excellent dark & edgy movie, as
this great character was the first ever to be published in
Marvel Comics, issue number one from1939, right on page one, and
right on the front cover. Such great legend that is the original Human
Torch certainly deserves to be in his very own movies and even more in
his very own regular comics book series; and who knows by building on
the true original golden age icon, we might actually discover that
the original Human Torch could be more human than it was first
thought. Adding to the great legend, with the love of a father who
might have lost his own child in a fire, Professor Horton could have
made his creation with something of his son inside of him, if only a
few childhood memories; and at first Jim might not even know his true
nature
- SUB-MARINER VS
ORIGINAL HUMAN TORCH -
In
this movie could appear two of the greatest golden age Marvel icons, Jim
Hammond the original Human Torch and Namor The Sub-Mariner, with the
classic confrontation between the forces of water and fire, and maybe
someday the Human Torch or Sub-Mariner could return the favor each in
their own films with different angles and perspectives from the opposite
points of views, where on the Human Torch side Namor would be the bad
guy and on the Sub-Mariner side Human Torch would be the enemy. Namor
would be hero to some and baddie to others for defending his world from
the chemical and sonar pollution of surface men, versus Human Torch,
hero to some and baddie to others for defending his city and country
against attacks as well, kind of like the situation in today's world as
a parallel to wars and environmental problems; Namor the Sub-Mariner
from a cross with a very long lifespan race adapted to the ocean, and
the original Human Torch, machine on the surface created and at first
feared by surface men for his power, but deep down more human that most
human beings
-
PROJECT REBIRTH -
Decades
into the future, a grand-daughter of good old scientist Professor
Horton, she would inherit what is left of his properties, and eventually
walk into some secret hidden laboratory only to find plans and
prototypes of the original Human Torch; and with her own scientific
knowledge, she would attempt to bring back to life the artificial soul
of Jim Hammond by upgrading and completing one of those Human Torch
prototypes, and set into motion a plan for him and the work of her grand
father to live on forever, with a way for Jim to backup his own memories
on a regular base into some outside memory bank. Eventually the original
Human Torch could even find the remains of his old artificial self, and
incorporate his old memories, including his whole World War Two chapter
with his new ones
- GIFT OF HUMANITY -
And maybe in the end, for his acts of heroisms saving
countless innocent lives, and after self-sacrificing his very own
existence, God himself with the face of our hero's creator Carl Burgos
would come down and intervene by giving the true legend the gift of
humanity and return him back to Earth as his bravest and brightest flame
And
if for some reason people want him back the way he originally was,
then to save the life of his fiancée, after some tragic event that
would send her to intensive care between life and death, the
original Human Torch would seek and find God himself and ask to save her
life in exchange of his; and in an act of mercy God would save her,
but he would return the true hero's the way he originally was in
the very beginning as the artificial life form that was created in
a laboratory
