IRON MAN THE MOVIES
by
Renaud Bédard

Tony
Stark is an inventor and a high tech gadget freak for good reasons, but he
is also the golden Avenger known as Iron Man, a superhero with a very
sophisticated high tech point of view, and from inside his mask, he sees
targeting grids, and all sorts of information from sensors, along with
links to criminal record of suspects, all appearing as overlapping of the
exterior view; also he can hear distant sounds, with sophisticated voice
recognition that can listen in to what the enemy is planning, to the
number of different heartbeats or footsteps, also with advanced thermo
night and telescopic vision, and all equipped with full flying supersonic
speed capability. And along with Tony Stark's vast private armor
collection, what would be interesting to see in Iron Man films would be
the Mandarin as the main villain, also the Crimson Dynamo, War Machine,
Titanium Man, as well as appearances of Hawkeye, and Nick Fury, and all
faithfully and only original regular universe characters
-
HEART OF STEEL -
Maybe in future Iron Man
films, we could see the very birth of Tony Stark, and the events
leading to it, where scenes would show his father and his inventions
at the time saving his own child, before the mother died as a result of an
experiment that went wrong; and from his birth Tony Stark might
have been totally dependent on technology and would be obsessed by it
later on. And on her death bed, the father would rest the new born in the
arms of his dead wife who would just have given birth, and he would
promise her to take well care of the kid, and speaking to his child, he
would tell him that went he grows up, his father will tell him
that he saw his mother, and she held him
- HAWKEYE CAMEO-
In
the second Iron Man movie, it would be nice, not to mention clever, to
have a short but sweet appearance of Clinton Barton working as a
professional bow and arrows marksman, while the crowd would have their
backs turn, not paying attention to his performance, and all would be
watching Iron Man in the air attempting a rescue over a traveling
circus, and Clint wondering what is going on, just as it happened in the
very first original appearance of Hawkeye, in the Iron Man story from
the comic book series Tales of Suspense, in issue 57 of 1964, all
perfectly setting up the character for possibly solo films and as one of
the future Avengers. And later on in the film, while Iron Man in trouble
battling Titanium Man, a mysterious arrow would find its way and sneak
into a tiny opening of the titanium armor, short-circuiting the bad guy,
with Tony Stark wondering where that arrow came from; All underlining
the extreme lethal precision and exceptional eyesight of Hawkeye, and
his sense of observation for the slightest details and
weaknesses for those that fall prey to him
- THOR
CONNECTION -
Future Iron
Man movies could also like the first Captain America movie set things in
motion for the future film events to come of Earth's Mightiest Heroes
The Avengers; and in the last scene of an Iron Man film, we could see
from the back only, as a teaser of things to come, a man by the name Dr
Donald Blake entering Tony Stark's office and introducing himself,
without giving too many god-like Thor details away, except maybe the
antique handle of what could possibly be an ancient Viking war hammer,
sticking out, with these words to be heard
Donald:
Mr. Stark, I believe we have business to
discuss
Tony: And what sort of business did you had in mind
Misterrrr?
Donald: Blake, Doctor Donald Blake
And the film would close to an end, with the office door shutting down behind them, and only muffled voices to be heard through the glass door, and the camera focusing on that mysterious hammer, as perhaps the mighty Thor himself is proposing some alliance with the very formation of the Avengers, and looking for a technological way to bring a rampaging Hulk under control, to avoid a catastrophic confrontation that could result in the destruction of whole cities in the process
-
CAPTAIN AMERICA -
In an Iron Man movie, a reference to the legendary superhero could go like this, when during a crisis, a future War Machine to be, Jim Rhodes would tell Tony Stark about to pull an other crazy stunt; "Who do you think you are Stark, Captain America?" All this said at a time before the return of Steve The Man Rogers or even the formation of the Avengers, and referring to the most revered famous red white and blue legend of World War Two that made the ultimate sacrifice with his very life to save the world. And later on in the film, we could also learn that Tony Stark’s grand father might have been rescued by the one and only true Captain America himself, where Tony’s great respect and fascination for the red white and blue super-soldier and everything relating to him
-
THE MANDARIN -
What
would be nice would be to explain the Mandarin character in a way to
bring some sympathy to him, by somehow justifying his actions in the
past for the good of his people and trying to get them out of extreme
poverty at the time, before evil took over, and explain how one with
good intentions can lose it completely; and in some way, tie the
character to his true origin story with roots in ancient Chinese
mythology, with his discovery of ten rings from long lost advanced
technology, and with his comprehension of science, and
looking at his ancestry, finding much more than he ever expected.
And like remaining faithful and true to the original character of
Mandarin was not good enough, a little Fare East mythology certainly can’t
hurt Asian or worldwide box-office numbers either
