With Ricochet, the Prodigy, the Hornet, and the Dusk, the Slingers
would get the occasional help of the legendary Dan Lyons, the original
Black Marvel. Where it might gets tricky is how this new generation of
superheroes acquire their different suits, rather than just stealing
them from an identity crisis Peter Parker; but maybe it's an
opportunity to make the origin story detached and more their own, with
instead the old Dan Lyons exploring different possibilities and new
experimental suit prototypes. Then almost by accident, four youngsters
would stubble on his laboratory, and on a dare, they would each try
out one; and suddenly, as the lights in the place are turned on, all
four caught by panic just flea the site, with Dan Lyons returning and
noticing some of the suits are gone and the back door is wide open. At
first as the Black Marvel, Dan's goal would be to recover those suits
at any cost; but quickly he discovers that those suits were in good
hands as those kids had a real sense of honor and respect, and they
were using the different powers on them for good. And one day those
kids returned, giving back their suits and apologizing for taking them
without permission; but Mister Lyons would tell them that they could
keep them if they wanted to, with one condition that they keep in
touch with him if any trouble were to occur
